With a life-long enthusiasm for gardening and a background in floral design, Anna Hiatt launched Hiatt & Co, a Wanaka-based business created to help busy, beginner gardeners. Bespoke to people’s needs, Anna’s aim is to reunite people with the pride and joy of growing delicious produce and gathering flowers from their very own kitchen garden.

Gardening can be daunting for many people who have limited time and feel overwhelmed with the bucketload of information available. Where does one start? Anna has devised a range of simple and fun solutions to enable you to maximise your home garden space, creating that bountiful and beautiful place you desire it to be. How can you achieve an attractive looking garden which still provides produce year-round? What pollinator flowers should you plant that aren’t hard to maintain but also make a fantastic arrangement on the kitchen table? Anna looks forward to sharing her clever solutions with you. 

Growing up on a farm and influenced by her green-fingered Granny, Anna’s edible gardening knowledge has largely been acquired from many years of hands-on experience, learning through the successes and the failures, rather than professional horticultural training. Starting at a young age with certificates adorning her bedroom walls from the local A&P shows for the best home-grown vegetables and floral exhibits, Anna has continued a lifetime of astute observation and learning with trial and error. Anna has done all the (literal) groundwork to find what works best, ultimately making gardening easier for you.
