Chanticleer Garden in Pennsylvania, USA, Great Dixter in East Sussex, UK, Geltonas Karutis in Vilnius, Lithuania and Garden Masterclass Polska in Warsaw - just to name a few. In the last twelve months, award winning garden designer, international lecturer and writer, Annie Guilfoyle has delivered stimulating workshops and inspirational presentations in all these locations. She has fascinating stories to tell and a wealth of knowledge to share.
Annie is a regular judge for RHS Chelsea Flower Show, UK, Copenhagen Garden Show, Denmark and the Orticolario Flower Show at Lake Como, Italy. She has also judged for The UK Society of Garden Designers Annual Awards, Moscow Garden Show, Russia, and the PHS Flower Show in Philadelphia, USA.
Her television work includes being a featured designer on the BBC-TV series Small Town Gardens and The Garden Makers.
Over eight years ago, together with Noel Kingsbury, Annie established Garden Masterclass, an educational programme of in-person and online events (excitingly, Noel will also be joining Garden Marlborough this year via a pre-recorded workshop).

With a career spanning the globe and a vast amount of experience gathered along the way, Annie will discuss the key elements that are essential in creating a great garden. Delivered with her wholly relatable and enthusiastic charm and supplemented by a montage of beautiful images, Annie will offer detailed insight about what gives her the most inspiration in terms of people, places, and plants. From Annie’s travels and teaching she will share clever examples of gardens that in her opinion not only provide a sanctuary but are also sustainable and show how you can plan and plant for a changing climate. Honing her skills when she was a guest designer on the BBC-TV’s Small Town Gardens, Annie has an advanced skillset brimming with useful ideas and solutions for any small garden space. Guided by Annie’s expertise during this Saturday morning talk, you too can learn to transform any tiny garden space into a contemporary urban sanctuary!
Practical workshop - Using Concepts in Design(Limited to 30 places)

For 18 years Annie was the Director of Garden Design at KLC School of Design at Hampton Court Palace, Surrey, where she was instrumental in establishing the highly acclaimed garden design courses. Many of Annie’s students have gone on to become successful, award-winning designers such as Matthew Childs and Marie-Louise Agius.
With her signature warmth and natural teaching style, Annie will run a hands-on workshop where you will explore concepts and how to employ them in the early stages of a design project. Be intimately guided by Annie in this limited numbers workshop and learn how to use concepts to enrich and improve your design aspirations. This Friday morning workshop is suitable for working designers and students of design along with keen amateur gardeners who would like to work with creative concepts when designing gardens.
