Yvette has always been in love with flowers and plants, and as a child spent countless hours in her grandmother’s garden in North Wales, admiring each delicate bloom and being captivated by their natural beauty.
After developing her craft in England, Yvette moved to New Zealand and now creates floral works of art and runs workshops from her Tory Street studio in Wellington’s CBD.
For Thursday and Friday’s wreath workshops get creative with Yvette Edwards and produce your very own Christmas wreath. Learn the techniques to moss and bind a sustainable wreath using local foliage, foraged branches, and fresh and dried seasonal treasures. You will be guided through floristry techniques with professional design tips to help you create your own unique wreath.
For Saturday’s vase arranging workshop, we invite you to bring along your own vase to fill with a selection of seasonal flowers and foliages. Under Yvette’s guidance, choose from her collection of stems to create your own beautiful arrangement to take home.
Prior to the workshop, consider where you would like to place the vase afterwards and how tall you would like the finished arrangement to be, so Yvette can help you choose the best materials to work with on the day.
All wreath and botanical materials and use of floristry equipment are provided, along with light refreshments.
For the vase arrangement bring your own medium to large vase. If you’re unsure about size, feel free to send in a photo of your vase after you have booked your place.
